BOZEMAN - Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport had its eighth record year in a row.
The airport handled nearly 1.2 million passengers in 2017.
Having that many people come through the airport creates a growing economy for the Gallatin Valley.
“Well, we estimate that for every passenger that flies in and out of our airport, it generates about $1,000 worth of economic impact for our valleys,” said Airport Director Brian Sprenger.
In 2017, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport celebrated its 75th year of serving southwest Montana. It opened a new runway on Oct. 27 and began construction of a new 1,100 stall, multi-use parking garage in December.
In addition, 15 new hangars were constructed at the airport representing more than $20 million in private investment.
