Arrest made in fatal Sheridan shooting

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - An investigation was underway Thursday in Sheridan, Wyo. where a man reported that his friend shot and killed someone in their apartment complex on Wednesday.

The Sheridan Police Department received a report around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday of a reported murder at an apartment located at 1410 North Main Street.

A man reported that his friend, identified as Christopher Macloughlin Labuy, knocked on his door and said he shot a man in another apartment in the building.

Officers responded and found the victim already dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police then located Labuy, 33, and arrested him.

Labuy is being held at the Sheridan County jail, according to the press release.

Labuy faces one count of first-degree murder and is expected to make his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.

No other suspects are involved and police say there is no danger to the community.

A motive has yet to be released.
