North Dakota Coyote Classic tournament hunt begins
Some very passionate and competitive hunters gathered at the Ramada in Dickinson to talk coyotes.
They're gearing up for the 16th annual Coyote Classic.
The two-day tournament starts Friday and ends Saturday night, and some hunters travel as far as Montana and South Dakota to participate.
Cash and prizes for the winner can be as high as $7,000.
People who participate in the tournament said it's the ultimate hunting experience.
"To go out when it's minus 10 degrees, and to deal with the wind and cold and stuff like that is probably the biggest thing with coyote hunting. This time of year it's the weather," said Jamie Olson, Coordinator for Coyote Classic.
The record catch for the tournament is 20 coyotes.
