Posted: Updated:

BILLINGS - A Billings woman was stabbed early Friday and a suspect has been arrested.

Police said in a press release that officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Logan Lane at 6:47 a.m. where they found a 24-year-old Billings woman with multiple stab wounds.

The woman, who was awake and breathing, was transported to Billings Clinic with non-life threatening injuries.

It is unknown what provoked the altercation and it is unknown what the relationship is between the victim and suspect, the press release states.

Officers began searching the area for the suspect and located the person about an hour and a half later at the Walmart in the Heights.

The suspect - who was not identified in the press release - was booked into the Yellowstone County jail on suspicion of assault with a weapon.
