LIVINGSTON - The Park County Sheriff's Office posted pictures on its Facebook page of a vehicle that recently got stuck on a water-covered road in the hopes of preventing other of doing the same.
The driver of the pickup ignored a "Road Closed" signed on Fiddle Creek Road along the flooded Shields River and got stuck in the water, according to sheriff's deputies.
The driver was cited for failing to obey a traffic device and was not identified by the Park County Sheriff's Office.
"We close these roads for a reason and these photos illustrate that reason quite vividly," the sheriff's office wrote in the post.
The Shields River flowed over its banks Friday but has receded to below flood stage at 4.5 feet Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
